The garden is looking very beautiful just now. All the roses, wisteria and crab apples (to name but a few) are in full bloom. We had the Open Day weekend before last and over 400 folk visited.
One of the first jobs of the day today was pruning the dead heads from the roses. Wandered around with two buckets; one for the dead heads and one for the roses that are not quite dead but pretty near. They are now sitting in a vase here on my desk. I've just looked at them with a frown and a question. Why have I half dead roses sitting on my desk when I have a garden full of very much alive ones?
David has gone outside to do some chores. Dinner will be ready in half an hour I said as he wandered off. Here we are now with the half hour up and I'm 'blogging'. Thank the Lord it's left-overs and that I have some vegetables from the garden which will cook in seconds.
A lot to be thankful for today; a child nearly drowned.
