The last two Mondays, I've met up with Charis and Anne at Charis' home for a bit of Christmas cooking. Anne and Charis get together each year to do this, spliting the day's baking between them. "Can I come too?" I asked. And so, the three of us spent a lovely time together - chatting (before we got started) about the highs and lows in our lives at the moment. One morning we got together around 9.00am and around the 11.00am mark, finally got up from the table (with empty mugs in our hands) to do some cooking!
Last Monday was especially lovely as it was a misty, dreich day - a great day for cooking. We got an amazing amount of cooking done - 3 batches of macadamia shortbread, ice-cream which had everything in it from brandy to crushed macadamia nuts, salmon pots, cheesy snaps, toasted nutrigrain and nuts with curry which are sooo morish, biscotti.... Had a ball. Lovely photos taken on the first Monday with Anne and Charis deciding what to cook this year, the wonderful batches of mince pies and biscotti and after the day's cooking, afternoon tea in the garden.
