After years and years of drought, the rain continues to fall. Fortunately, we haven't experienced floods like this one (in one of the Queensland country towns), but our ground is certainly getting to the point where it just won't accept any more water. How regretful the state government must be after all the money spent on infrastructure to pump, desalinate and generally move water about the state so we could all be assured of a cuppa in the mornings. No-one's saying very much but after years of work on the various projects, years of wondering when our next 'rain' would be, years of buckets in the shower to catch any drops of water that hadn't fallen on our bodies, it must be in everyone's mind.
